What is better than a summer night grill out? The windows open, the cool summer breeze, and the smell of some good food grilling. You can’t beat it. Us Michiganders especially love it when the weather takes a turn for the better because it usually won’t last long! Everyone knows the usual grill items…burgers, chicken, steak…but how about pizzas?! My husband and I love our pizza nights, and grilling them makes it feel like a gourmet meal. Pair it with some good wine and have yourself a good time!
On our pizzas we love the traditional items: sauce, green pepper, onion…the usual. But this week we tried something new. With pesto as our base we added chicken, cheese, green pepper, onion, and fire roasted tomatoes on top. And I must say, it was de-lish! Just find some whole wheat pita bread, toast one side on the grill for about 30 seconds then take it off the grill and add your toppings to the toasted side. Place back on the grill until it’s finished to your liking. So simple but SO good! Bon appetite!
Until next time,
